At Disentis/Mustér, the monastery welcomes us
The stage place Disentis/Mustér is suitable as an overnight stop. The parish church and the Benedictine monastery are open during the day. The monastery was destroyed several times in the course of its history and once even burned down, losing not only art treasures but also the archive and the library. The monastery was restored three times, the last time in 1880.
The "Via Francisca" is also called the "Road of the Emperors." It leads from Konstanz via the Lukmanier Pass to Pavia, where it meets the Via Francigena.
The stages in this documentation are suggestions that every pilgrim can adjust according to their wishes. However, the technical data always assumes that these stages are completed in one day each.
