Caslano, just before the border

This is the last stage in Switzerland. It takes us along the eastern flank of the Vedeggio Valley to Lago Ceresio, Lake Lugano. We pass through many small villages, but in the second half often along the lake with the possibility to take a refreshing swim. On the left is the agglomeration of Lugano with industrial areas, which do not bother us much as we stay above and often in the forest. Just after the airport, we reach the lake with various campgrounds and beaches. At the crossing of the Tresa, we say goodbye to Switzerland and now enter Italy.

Anmerkungen

The "Via Francisca" is also called the "Emperor's Road." It leads from Konstanz over the Lukmanier to Pavia, where it meets the Via Francigena.
