Güntersleben - Information board
We leave Binsbach heading towards Gramschatz. Through the large Gramschatzer Forest, we come via Güntersleben (along the stream) to Gadheim (Markus Chapel). Via the "Schafhof" we go down to Unterdürrnach at the Main. Afterwards, we climb stairs to the "Steinburg" with a magnificent view over Würzburg. We go down the Rotkreuzstiege, pass under the northern bypass and the railway, and cross the Main on the Friedensbrücke. Our next destination is the monastery church Don Bosco in the Würzburg Main district. This church is also called "Schottenkirche" or "St. Jakobskirche" because it was built by Scottish monks and dedicated to the Apostle James. It includes the Scottish monastery, where pilgrims receive the pilgrim stamp and blessing. Here also begins the Franconian-Swabian Jakobsweg. A pilgrim hostel awaits us in the Käppele.
