Morgenstimmung in Nasbinals

Farewell to the Shell in Nasbinals
In the small town of Aubrac, only the church and the Tour des Anglais remain from the former Domerie d'Aubrac monastery, but newer infrastructures provide for the well-being of the pilgrims.
Belvézet lies on a volcanic hill, where you can still see the ruins of a former castle; since Velay, we have almost missed these witnesses of volcanic past. At the stage town, it is worth visiting the church as well as the old “Pont des Pelerins” down by the stream, over which we will leave the town again the next day.
The Via Podiensis begins in Le Puy-En-Velay and leads us to St. Jean Pied de Port. It corresponds to the long-distance hiking trail 65 and is marked with the shell and with red-white bars.
“Aligot,” a mixture of potatoes and fresh cheese, we will encounter repeatedly from here during these days.
