Friboug-Payerne (Var. B)

Today's stage will take us over a distance of 22.3 km with a walking time of around 6.0 hours from Fribourg to Payerne. A tough day stage awaits us. We start the hike at Fribourg train station by taking the underpass towards the northwest. We follow the signposted paths and shortly before the motorway crossing reach the highest point of the stage at Belle-Croix at 722 m altitude. The path today leads mostly over asphalt. After about 11.0 km we reach Noréaz. The route continues via Motagny-les-Monts and after around 17.0 km we arrive in Cousset. Along the Arbogne and after crossing the cantonal road we reach Corcelles and after a further 3.0 km we arrive at Payerne train station.

There is the possibility as an alternative to this route to pilgrimage from Fribourg to Romont (Variant A).
