Payerne-Lucens (Var. B)

Today’s stage will cover a distance of 22.3 km with a walking time of around 5.5 hours from Payerne to Moudon. We face a moderate daily stage. We start the hike at the abbey in Payerne and leave the town heading southwest along the Broye. We follow the marked paths and reach Granges-près-Marnand after about 8.0 km. The route continues along the Broye to Lucens. Here, after approximately 15.5 km, we cross the river and the cantonal road. Shortly after Curtilles, we reach the highest point of the day at 532 m before returning to the Broye riverside path. After another 4.0 km and a further crossing of the river, we arrive in Moudon. The path today is on asphalt and natural trails.

There is an option to pilgrimage from Fribourg to Romont as an alternative to this route (main route).
