Siebnen-Einsiedeln

Today's demanding stage leads us over a distance of 19.4 km with an estimated walking time of around 6.0 hours from Siebnen to Einsiedeln. We start the hike by crossing the Wägitaler Aa and follow the signposted paths to Galgenen. The trail continues around Altendorf and Lachen and begins to ascend shortly before St. Johann after about 5.0 km. After about 12.0 km, we reach the chapel and the St-Meinrad guesthouse at an altitude of 947 m, the highest point of the day's stage. Afterwards, the path leads further south, past the Galgenchappeli, a former execution site with a beautiful view of the Sihlsee. Shortly thereafter, we arrive in Einsiedeln on the old Etzel road. The path includes both asphalt and natural trails.
