Drainage canal in the Grossen Moos
There are reasons for this: before the Jura water correction, this area was repeatedly flooded after heavy rains, which naturally had a good influence on soil fertilization, but made the area unsuitable for the construction of settlements or industrial buildings. Since the mentioned correction, this has changed somewhat, but vegetable cultivation has remained faithful.

Rotary bridge over the Canal de la Broye
So we walk over fields and some forest sections until we reach the Broye Canal, which connects Lake Murten with Lake Neuchâtel. The first thing we do is cross the canal on an elegant pedestrian and biker bridge, then follow the Broye to Lake Murten, where we reach the charming, historic stage town of Murten. Murten is sure to please.
The Three-Lakes Route connects the «Regio Basiliensis» with the Romandie, where it flows into the «Route of Romandie» at Payerne, which continues via Geneva to France.
The stages in this documentation are suggestions that each pilgrim can adapt to their wishes. However, the technical data always assumes that these stages are completed in one day each.
