Old town of Le Landeron
After the medieval La Neuveville, another gem of a similar kind awaits us after only a few kilometers, namely «Le Landeron» at the western end of Lake Biel.
We cross the Zihl Canal, which connects Lake Neuchâtel with Lake Biel. Shortly thereafter, we come to the wooded western shore of Lake Biel and soon reach Erlach with the castle and a few houses crowning the top of a steep hill. Here in Erlach, the path to the tip of St. Peter's Island also begins or ends, which is connected to the mainland by a footbridge.
Now a relaxing forest path follows along the western shore to Vinelz, and then a forest and field path with beautiful views over the fertile agricultural zone, and the stage destination Ins is soon reached.
The Three-Lakes Route connects the «Regio Basiliensis» with the Romandie, where it flows into the «Route of the Romandie» near Payerne, which continues via Geneva to France.
The stages in this documentation are suggestions that each pilgrim can adapt to their wishes. However, the technical data always assumes that these stages are completed in one day each.
