Sedrun

Etzlibach near Gulmen north of Etzlihütte
Starting in Sedrun, we cross via Camischolas and Mila into the Val Mila. There we follow the stream northwards until it goes relatively steeply up from the Alp Mila to the pass crossing called Mittelplatten. After the pass summit, the path descends to the Etzlihütte.
After a refreshment or overnight stay, there are rocky, steeper sections again at the Gadmenstutz and below the Rossboden, but then the path gently follows the Etzlibach stream downhill. Only shortly before Amsteg (near Bristen) does the deeply cut Bristenobel force us to end the hike along the stream. The hiking trail runs on the right side of the gorge.
The pilgrimage route Via Son Giachen leads from South Tyrol through the Val Müstair in the canton of Graubünden towards Central Switzerland or Valais. The partly alpine pilgrimage route is only continuously passable in warm seasons.
In case of bad weather forecast, you can reach Amsteg by public transport from Trun via Oberalp and Andermatt. The Via Son Giachen ends in Amsteg. For the continuation along the Reuss, we recommend the "Ticino connecting route to Via Jakobi".
