Einsiedeln-Brunnen

Today's stage will take us along a challenging route and thus suggests a break. We start the hike southwest from Einsiedeln Monastery and turn sharply right at the southern industrial area near the Altersheim stop. The path today leads us over asphalt and natural paths. We follow the marked trails and cross the mountain river Alp. Past the Benedictine convent Au, we reach Trachslau after about 4.0 km. The path continues along the Alp and through Alpthal. After crossing the Malosen Bridge, the path to Haggenegg climbs steeply. After 12.0 km at an altitude of 1,414 m, we reach Haggenegg, the highest point of the day's stage. This is followed by a descent of about 8.0 km to Schwyz. We pass through Schwyz in a southwest direction to Ibach and cross the Muota river. The path continues past Ingenbohl Monastery and we arrive in Brunnen.
