just before Vicques with a view of Raimeux
We meet the stream «La Scheulte» at Courroux just before it flows into the Birs. Mostly through agricultural areas, we then reach Vicques with its well-known modern church, which we should actually visit, even though medieval pilgrims did not pause here. Through a narrow small valley, we then climb up and reach the village of Rebeuvelier, which lies in a flat part of the now wider valley.

unconventional church of Vicques
From now on until the stage destination at the settlement Raimeux de Grandval, there are practically no flat sections anymore; steady, short steps typical of an experienced mountain hiker are required. The view in this section is shaped by various perspectives down to Rebeuvelier and later also to Delémont, to Jura folds in the north, to the Vosges and the Black Forest. When we suddenly see the Alps to the southwest, we have reached the stage destination.
Before tackling the next two stages, we recommend also studying the "Moron Variant."
The Three Lakes Route connects the «Regio Basiliensis» with Romandie, where it flows into the «Route of Romandie» near Payerne, which continues via Geneva to France.
When studying the recommended "Moron Variant," the weather forecast should also be taken into account.
