Avenches: Amphitheater

This last stage goes a little into the hills again and we are spared from traffic. But that does not mean we only hear cowbells ringing, dogs barking, and birds chirping, because northwest of the stage location Payerne lies a military airfield, and when the fighter jets take off and land there, the noise level is so incredible that residents living near civilian airports suddenly become satisfied with their noise disturbance.

Avenches: Church

At the entrance to Corcelles-près-Payerne, the Gantrisch/Freiburg route joins us from the south, which also has its stage location in Payerne. So if we do not meet other pilgrims, e.g., from Bavaria, Austria, or South Tyrol, on these last kilometers, it could very well happen already at the accommodation or later on the further westward journey.

Anmerkungen

The Three Lakes Route connects the "Regio Basiliensis" with the Romandie, where it joins the "Romandie Route" at Payerne, which continues via Geneva to France.
