Lü: Chapel

This stage takes us from Val Müstair over the Pass da Costainas into Val S-charl. After starting in Lü, there are still 300 meters of steady ascent through a fragrant larch forest, then it becomes flatter. From the Alp Champatsch, we enjoy the view of the impressive Ortler massif. Over high alpine pastures, we reach the “Pass da Costainas.” In doing so, we also switch from the catchment area of Rom/Rambach, Etsch/Adige, Po and Adriatic Sea to the catchment area of Clemgia, Inn, Danube, and Black Sea.

Afterwards begins the long march through the largely untouched Val S-charl, a stretch to enjoy nature and to reflect. Shortly before reaching the stage destination S-charl, we still pass through the “highest closed Swiss pine forest in Europe.”

Anmerkungen

The pilgrimage route Via Son Giachen leads from South Tyrol through the Val Müstair in the canton of Graubünden towards Central Switzerland or Valais. The partly alpine pilgrimage route is only fully passable in warm seasons.
