Neuhaus-Rapperswil

Today's easy day stage leads us over a distance of 11.1 km with a walking time of about 3.0 hours from Neuhaus to Rapperswil-Jona. We start the hike at the Jakob Chapel and leave Neuhaus in a westerly direction, following the marked paths, and after about 2.0 km arrive at the field path in Eschenbach. We leave the town via Rütistrasse and enter the Eggwald. At 545 m altitude, shortly before the Chälenstich, we reach the highest point of the day's stage. Always staying in a southwesterly direction, we pass through the hamlet of Egg, Hohweg, and through the Jonerwald, after about 8.0 km we reach the entrance of Jona. We cross the Jona river and the railway tracks and arrive after about 2.0 km at the harbor of Rapperswil. The path mostly runs on asphalt, partly also on natural paths.

In Neuhaus, the pilgrim's way to Einsiedeln can be continued either via Rapperswil-Jona (Schwabenweg) or Siebnen (Rorschach branch).
