Langwies - Tschiertschen

This stage leads us from Langwies north of the Plessur down over the Sappüner Bach and the Plessur to the left, southern bank of the Plessur, where we mostly hike through forests along the shady northern slope of Weisshorn through Schanfigg towards Chur until Tschiertschen. The railway between Chur and Arosa also crosses the Plessur at Langwies. On the left bank, we climb up, cross the railway line, and reach the country road in Prätschwald, which connects Arosa with Molinis. Along this road, we hike to the remarkable Molinis on the right bank of the Plessur. Molinis and its church were destroyed by a mudslide in summer 1980 and rebuilt in 1982.

Back on the left bank, we follow the road via Höhi to Tschiertschen, a continuous ascent with beautiful views of the other side of the Schanfigg valley. Shortly after crossing the wild Ruchtobel, we reach the stage destination Tschiertschen.
