«Felsentor» on the south descent from Raimeux

Today's stage first brings the descent from Mont Raimeux down to Grandval. Because this descent takes place entirely on well-developed forest roads with moderate gradients, our knees will be satisfied with these loads. If we hear voices from the rocks above us in the uppermost section, they are not local mountain spirits but climbers practicing their hobby here.

From Grandval to Moutier, we stay on the slopes of the Raimeux and enjoy the green valley until shortly before Moutier a new motorway awakens us from our dreams. It comes from a tunnel from Delémont, crosses our valley, and disappears into a tunnel towards Biel, or vice versa.

Moutier also has to do with railway tunnels, as the Basel-Biel axis disappears shortly after Moutier station into a tunnel towards Grenchen. Our stop Perrefitte is a few kilometers beyond Moutier, and here we can once again enjoy the rural peace.

Anmerkungen

The Three-Lakes Route connects the «Regio Basiliensis» with the Romandie, where it flows into the «Route of Romandie» at Payerne, which continues via Geneva to France.
