Protestant church of Scuol above the Inn
First, we reach Ftan with its notable church and well-preserved old Engadine houses. After crossing the Tasnan stream, we come to Ardez with its castle visible from afar on a rock, one of the landmarks of the Lower Engadin. Finally, we pass through the hamlet Bos-cha to the touristically busy Guarda, known for its Engadine houses decorated with sgraffiti and flowers - a popular subject for photographers.
The pilgrimage route Via Son Giachen leads from South Tyrol through the Val Müstair in the canton of Graubünden towards Central Switzerland or Valais. The partly alpine pilgrimage route is only fully accessible during the warm seasons.
On the sun-exposed side of the valley, special attention should be paid to sun protection, especially in summer. The water for the troughs in Switzerland is practically always of drinking water quality.
